Los Angeles FC Tickets
LAFC, or the Los Angeles Football Club, is a soccer team based in Los Angeles, CA. A member of the Western Conference in Major League Soccer, the club plays matches at the BMO Stadium in Exposition Park.
It’s a lot more fun to see them in action than read about them in an article. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get affordable LAFC tickets, so you never miss one of their games.
History of LAFC
Los Angeles was awarded a new expansion in 2014 by Major League Soccer, which allowed them to form a team called the Los Angeles Football Club. While this was previously used as a placeholder team name, it stuck and is now the official name of the team.
The team played its first Major League Soccer game in 2018, where they won against the Seattle Sounders Football Club. The team’s designated player, Diego Rossi, scored their first-ever goal.
The LAFC is considered to have the most impressive regular season out of any MLS expansion, having earned a total of 57 points. Their seven road wins have them tied for the most ever by an expansion team, which may be why LAFC season ticket holders tend to be such staunch fans.
They also secured their first playoff spot after a 3-0 victory against the Colorado Rapids, which helped them finish third in the West. Be sure to buy LAFC tickets on TickPick this season to avoid hidden fees and get the guaranteed best prices.
What Is a Los Angeles FC Game Like?
LAFC games are exciting, energetic, and fun. Be prepared to be cheering with fans in the crowd as you root for your team’s victory against their rivals, whether they’re playing the New England Revolution, Minnesota United FC, or the Philadelphia Union. All-Star Games might be even more exciting than standard season games.
The LAFC play their home games at BMO Stadium in Exposition Park, right next to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the University of Southern California.
BMO Stadium has a seating capacity of 22,000, and it has a seating angle of 34 degrees — making it among the steepest in the Major Soccer League. But just because there are a ton of seats doesn’t mean they won’t sell out quickly.
If you see an away game, though, the team can play everywhere from Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena to Miami to Cincinnati.
Of course, the only real way to know exactly what an LAFC game is like is to go to one yourself.

LAFC’s Head Coach
The current head coach for the LAFC is Steve Cherundolo, the second head coach in the club’s history. Cherundolo is one of the most decorated U.S. players of all time, with over 15 years of experience playing on the field.
Cherundolo earned the UEFA Pro License in 2020 after his career ended, cementing himself as one of football's greatest. He was even inducted into the US Soccer Hall of Fame in 2021 because of his 87 appearances in the US National Team.
Cherundolo replaced the previous coach, Bob Bradley (who coached the U.S. at the 2010 World Cup), after Bradley secured a position coaching for the Toronto FC. Bradley replaced the previous two coaches in 2018.
Notable Players on the LAFC
While all players on the LAFC are notable in their own right, a few stick out among the pack.
Diego Palacios is one of the more progressive passers in the entire league, making him a standout teammate that needs to be seen in person.
Giorgio Chiellini is another standout player with aerial dominance and quick wit, making him a force to be reckoned with on the field. Other honorable mentions include Carlos Vela and Gareth Bale.
LAFC Rivals
The biggest rival of the LAFC is actually right in Los Angeles county, too. The LA Galaxy, who play in the suburb of Carson, is the club’s biggest competitor both on and off the field.
The series between the rival teams is called El Trafico, which is Spanish for “The Traffic.” It refers to the notorious traffic congestion in the LA area while also serving as a play on words for El Clasico.
Other rivals include the Seattle Sounders, as this was the first-ever team to lose to the LAFC after their fruition. LAFC also has an on-field rivalry with the Portland Timbers because of a four-day period in 2018 in which the teams played each other twice. They’re also rivals with the San Jose Earthquakes, although it is perhaps not as fierce a rivalry as with some of the other teams. LAFC game tickets are generally in higher demand for these rivalry matchups than others, so be sure to buy soon.
