Where Should I Sell My Tickets?
This is probably the most important question for you to consider. Where you end up selling your tickets will determine how quickly your tickets sell and how much money you’ll earn from your ticket sale.
For all the major players in the secondary ticket industry, we’ve broken down their seller fees (how much commission a ticket seller is charged if their tickets sell), their site traffic (which helps determine how quickly you should expect your tickets to sell), and how to actually list your tickets for sale on their site.
Can I List My Tickets for Sale On Multiple Ticket Sites?
To be clear, when listing tickets for sale, you are absolutely obligated to deliver these tickets to the buyer on whichever ticket marketplace they sold. We strongly advise against manually listing your tickets on different ticket resale sites due to the risk of your tickets selling on multiple secondary marketplaces, which would make you liable for penalties in the form of replacement fees of up to 200% of the sale price.
Ticket resale marketplaces will seek penalties from sellers who don’t follow the rules. Therefore, please monitor your listings very carefully.
How to Show My Tickets to the Most Buyers
TickPick has made double sales a thing of the past with its new AutoList feature that broadcasts your tickets for sale on multiple major ticket marketplaces, which increases the visibility of your tickets and maximizes the audience your tickets will reach.
You no longer have to worry about replacement fees, as AutoList automatically pulls your listings down from ticket sites once they have sold. It’s the safest and most effective way to sell tickets instantly.
What Resale Site Should I Use to Sell My Tickets?
If you’re eager to learn how to sell sports tickets, concert tickets, or theater tickets, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get it done.
There are plenty of different sites where you can sell your tickets, but the leading ones in the industry are StubHub, Vivid Seats, Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, and TickPick.
The site you choose to sell your tickets can be based on how much you’re willing to let a company take in seller fees and how soon you want the tickets to sell.
Marketplace | Buyer Fees | Seller Fees |
---|---|---|
Vivid Seats | ~35% | 10% |
StubHub | ~25% | 10% |
Ticketmaster | ~20% | 10-15% |
SeatGeek | ~25% | 10% |
TickPick | 0% | 15% |
The above graphic illustrates the ticket fee structures for the leading brands in the industry.
What these numbers mean is that you can list your ticket for sale for $100 on any of these websites and the buyer would pay anywhere in the range of $120-135 for that ticket, while you’d receive $90 on most of these sites and $85 on TickPick.
But even if you listed that ticket for sale for $110 on TickPick, your buyer would pay less than they would on any competing site because there are no hidden fees, and you’d still earn a greater percentage of your total sale price.
That’s a win-win for both you the seller and your buyer because they’ll save and get the best price and you’ll still earn a greater profit on your sale.
How to Sell Tickets on TickPick
1.) Go to the TickPick home page, and click on the green “Sell Tickets” button along the top right corner of the page. This will take you to TickPick’s sell page.
2.) Type in the name of your event in the search bar at the top of the Listing Agent.

3.) Once you’ve typed in the performer or event, select the correct event date/show for the tickets you have to sell. The example below shows a user trying to sell Justin Timberlake tickets.

4) Fill out the ticket details: Quantity, Section, Row, Seat Numbers, the ticket delivery type, and any other information or disclosures the customer may need to know.

5.) One of the most important parts of selling tickets is knowing what’s a good price for my tickets? Our listing agent suggests what price you should list your tickets for depending on factors like what your price is compared to others within your tickets’ section, what the best deal is for the event overall, and what are the cheapest tickets for the event in general.
We also let you know what your exact payout would be for each ticket sold.

Keep in mind that if you’re listing e-tickets that are available already as PDFs and you’ve marked your tickets as “In Hand” and ready to upload right away, the seller page will prompt you to upload the PDF files and attach them to your listing just after naming your price to complete the listing process.
Selling Tickets on StubHub
Like many other resale marketplaces, StubHub lets you list tickets on their site for free; however, StubHub’s seller fees are some of the highest in the industry and are often unclear. To learn more check out our article on StubHub’s Fees, but for now, here are the basics:
While StubHub has been playing around with its fee structure, they for the most part charge the seller 10% of the price the seller sets, and then add on an extra ~25% to the listed ticket price as a buyer’s fee, pocketing up to 35% from your ticket sale from both the buyer and seller’s end, which is a significant amount.
So, why would you choose StubHub over another marketplace that doesn’t charge as much? It comes down to market share.
While StubHub doesn’t release any of its data publicly, it’s well-known that StubHub controls around 25% of the secondary ticket market. With over 550k brand name searches on Google every month (a fairly good indication of the level of comparable traffic), StubHub will generally put a lot of eyeballs on your tickets.
It’s up to you if that’s worth selling your tickets at a lower price (which would net you a lower profit) to account for the extra ticket fees added for the StubHub buyer.
Selling Tickets on Ticketmaster
Ticketmaster’s fees are still pretty high at ~20-25% for the buyer and a 10% commission from the seller. Brand name search for Ticketmaster is the highest for any ticket site (over 2 million searches per month on average), but that’s mostly because they’re the primary vendor for many venues and teams throughout North America.
One of the benefits of selling tickets on Ticketmaster is that they’re partnered with so many venues across the country that they make it easy to list your tickets. You’re able to input the barcodes directly for most major events that they’re a partner of.
Selling Tickets on Vivid Seats
Vivid Seats is one of the biggest ticket sites in terms of ticket sales volume, which means that they have plenty of website traffic for sellers looking to get their tickets sold.
Over the years, they’ve placed much more emphasis on ticket buyers than those looking to sell tickets, which they can easily account for since their buyer fees are the highest in the industry at ~30-35%. To learn more, check out this article on Vivid Seats’ Fee Structure.
Their seller fees rival most of the industry with a 10% commission taken per sale, but their high fees mean you may have to list your tickets for sale at a lower price than other ticket sites to keep your prices competitive, which in turn would net you a lower price on your sale.
