How To Get Cheap Super Bowl Tickets & Best Time to Buy

February 7, 2025 by

As the co-CEO and Co-Founder of TickPick (a ticket marketplace with no hidden fees), I understand that buying cheap Super Bowl tickets is challenging. In addition to the fact that we are talking about thousands of dollars, the stress of deciding when to buy, where to sit, and how to get tickets can add up.

As for where you should get cheap SB 59 tickets, we guarantee that we have the best prices on TickPick because we never add any hidden fees on top of the listed ticket prices, and the price you see is the price you’ll pay. This will help you save money over our major competitor for the same tickets you’ll find on other sites.

Keep reading to find out how to get cheap Super Bowl 2025 tickets for this year’s matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans.

You should also sign up for our newsletter below to get the most up-to-date pricing updates that will help you determine the best time to buy tickets.

How to Buy Cheap Super Bowl Tickets

The primary way to buy 2025 Super Bowl tickets cheaply is by buying them from a ticket site that doesn’t charge any hidden fees because when ticket prices get high, so do the fees that sites like StubHub and Vivid Seats charge to their buyers. You can get guaranteed savings on a site like TickPick, which has no hidden costs and always shows all-in pricing.

Take a look at this ticket listing on a competitor’s site in Section 647, Row 14, for $5,984:

Once you get to the checkout, the price increases by $1,041 once their hidden “Fulfillment and Service Fee” is added. (Note that the “tax” is a state-mandated tax applied to all ticket sales within Louisiana)

Here is the cost of that same Super Bowl ticket listed on TickPick.

In this example, the same ticket is $899 cheaper on TickPick because we don’t charge hidden fees. Significant savings like this only increase as more tickets are purchased for a small or large group.

We understand that fans should always price shop when looking to buy tickets like these. We encourage you to shop for the cheapest Super Bowl ticket prices across numerous sites, but at the end of the day, you’ll want to deal with a company that communicates well and can answer your questions.

When looking to buy cheap Superbowl tickets, three of the biggest things to consider are:

  • Which tickets to buy: zone seats vs. specific seats
  • When should you buy your tickets: now or later?
  • Where to buy your tickets: trust, communication, and price

TickPick offers the best Super Bowl 2025 tickets, the best prices, and the most helpful features of any ticket site.

Why pay more in Super Bowl ticket fees when you can buy them without hidden fees on TickPick and save hundreds or even thousands of dollars on your order, like in the above example?

What are the Cheapest Seats for the Super Bowl?

It’s usually safe to assume that the cheapest Super Bowl seats will almost always be found in the upper deck and usually above one of the two end zones.

Do Super Bowl Tickets Get Cheaper Closer to the Game?

This is a nuanced question, as various factors impact Super Bowl ticket prices, such as the amount of available ticket inventory, the teams involved in the matchup (how long it’s been since the team has won, if ever, how far fan bases have to travel to the Super Bowl host city, etc.), the allure or draw of the host city (think Las Vegas in 2024) that would attract football fans or wealthy people in general who just want to say they’ve attended the biggest event of the year and more.

Will Super Bowl tickets get cheaper? While ticket prices drop closer to the event for most football games, it’s hard to say this will be the case for this Super Bowl. The best thing we at TickPick can suggest is to subscribe to our Super Bowl newsletter below for updates that will get even more frequent once the participating Super Bowl teams are known. When is the Best Time to Buy Super Bowl Tickets?

In 2014, I started this Super Bowl guide and our newsletter to help my friends decide when to buy Super Bowl tickets. The answer to this question is: it depends. That said, if you look at historical data in the interactive pricing charts above, you’ll see that the best time to buy is typically 3-to-5 days before the game.

Here is a snippet from last year’s 2024 Super Bowl newsletter sent out to fans a few days before the game:

You’ll notice that as of this writing (4 days out from the game), prices have remained relatively steady and haven’t yet tailed off as they did for Super Bowl 2023 tickets and Super Bowl 2022 tickets. If you see tickets you like, we recommend pulling the trigger if prices are within your range because there’s no assurance that the ticket market will drop significantly.

Usually, tickets to the Super Bowl become cheaper as the game approaches. Data from a New York Times article suggests that prices are at their highest right after the conference championship games when fans’ spirits and BACs (blood alcohol content levels) are still high.

Ticket prices usually continue to fall as the two-week period ends; however, this is not guaranteed, so we suggest you sign up for our Super Bowl newsletter and refer to our blog on Super Bowl ticket pricing.

With prices changing daily, the answer to this question can change constantly. Still, you can follow our newsletter and download the TickPick app to use our Track Prices feature that helps you find the cheapest Super Bowl tickets available at any given time.

Check out the table below that tracks the cheapest Super Bowl 2024 tickets price every day leading up to last year’s game for reference of how sale prices can ebb and flow as the game gets closer.

Current Super Bowl Ticket Prices

This is advice from our most recent Super Bowl newsletter that was sent out to fans on Friday, February 7th:

We’re heading into the final weekend, and we can say that things have gone about as expected with the Super Bowl ticket market. The mid-week bump in inventory levels predictably led to prices coming down, and we saw our first sale under $3,000 come through just yesterday.

Yesterday was also when we saw the highest-ever volume of tickets sold 3 days out from gameday, and it seems that we’re now past the peak of available inventory. This scramble by fans to secure tickets has resulted in a small spike in ticket prices, with prices hovering just above $3,400 as of this writing.

If you’ve been following along with this newsletter and have been patiently waiting to buy, just know that whenever you do decide to buy, it will probably be a good time to do so because you’ve already locked in considerable savings and avoided buying at the top of the market shortly after the Super Bowl matchup was set.

This is also a relatively affordable Super Bowl compared to any in the past handful of years, only surpassed by Atlanta in 2019 in terms of the lowest average ticket cost. If there’s ever been a good year to buy Super Bowl tickets for fans, it’s been 2025.

If you’re still waiting to buy, expect volatility on gameday. At some point, you’ll need to decide on whether it’s worth the effort to continue tracking prices all through the weekend with the chance to save a little bit more – all while bearing in mind that hundreds of other fans in New Orleans are likely doing the same thing – or potentially even see pricing increase on gameday, as it has in 4 of the last 5 years.

If you decide to play the game this weekend and come across a deal you see as reasonable, we recommend not hesitating and pulling the trigger on buying.

Best of luck to all fans who are buying tickets, and we appreciate you following along with TickPick’s Super Bowl newsletter!

How to Get Super Bowl Tickets

There are other ways to get cheap Super Bowl tickets outside of buying on the secondary market. Some NFL season ticket holders and fans can get lucky and win a lottery that allows them to purchase affordable Super Bowl tickets at face value, although most of those fans will be part of the host stadium’s team.

Your chances as a season ticket holder are based on several criteria, including whether or not your team is in the big game, the type of season tickets you own, the number of seats owned, and the number of seasons you’ve owned those seats.

In years past, and for 2024 Super Bowl tickets, the NFL offered a lottery system to allow a lucky few to buy at face value for Super Bowl tickets, but this system changed for Super Bowls 52 and 53. Most of those tickets have now been allocated to NFL On Location, which sells tickets oftentimes at prices above secondary market value.

If you are one of the lucky winners of a Super Bowl seat, you’ll get to pick up your tickets on game day.

No matter what combination of variables applies to you, here’s what we recommend:
